Monterey Keys is a north Gold Coast suburb based around canals and waterways in mostly open streets with a some private streets and gated communities.

Ideally suited to, and attracting, families who enjoy watersports and boating. This area was first developed in 1992.

About The Area

Located on the western side of Hope Island, north of Helensvale, with access via a lock to the Coomera River via Saltwater Creek. Many properties are waterfront homes and mostly in open streets and with only a couple of secure gated communities.

One of the great features is the easy access to the M1 for a quick drive up to Brisbane.

Typical waterfront homes in Monterey Keys built with lifestyle in mind. This suburb is a popular choice for families with boats that can be moored on their waterfront jetties.

Neighbouring Gold Coast suburbs are Oyster Cove, Hope Island Resort, Helensvale and River Links.

This Queensland residential area has a variety of house styles both single level and double storey mostly oriented to families and the Gold Coast lifestyle.

The main gated communities include:

• The Peninsula - small gated community with its own private Peninsula Rec Club and large waterfront homes. The Rec Club is for use for residents and includes gymnasium, 25 metres heated pool with kiddie pool, kids play equipment, outdoor barbeque and flood lit tennis court. Comprising of The Peninsula, Eastside Esplanade and Waterside Esplanade,
• Parkwater Terraces – a private gated street of about 40 houses. No community facilities.

Facilities In The Area

Monterey Keys has no specific facilities. Closest local shops can be found on Hope Island Road and there are Woolworths at both Oxenford and Helensvale's Westfield Shopping centre offers a wide range of retail shopping, fresh food, KMart, Target, Aldi, Coles and Woolies supermarkets.

Closest golf courses can be found at Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island. There is a public 25m pool at Helensvale on Discovery Drive.

Gold Coast hospital is the closest major hospital and is located in Southport. There are various medical facilities such as doctors and dentists within the local area.

Some waterfront properties have jetties for smaller boats, but they have to be able to go through the lock system which protects the canals from tides and floods.
